If you don’t know what a “MILF” is, I’ll forgive you – I didn’t know until I heard about this story. But apparently MILF stands for “Mother I’d Like to Fuck” and somebody at the McCain Campaign HQ thought it would be a smart idea to register this internet domain name shortly after Sarah Palin was announced as McCain’s VP pick. They cited their own website – johnmccain.com – in the public registration data for their new voteforthemilf.com website, and voteforthemilf.com not only redirected people to johnmccain.com, but it did so specifically to a welcome video by Sarah Palin.
This is an old story – it was broken by govgap.com and the Washington Post in late September – but it was never reported widely (probably because of its sexual nature) and it seems to me just another example of the most grotesque and perverted presidential campaign I can ever remember. In case you’re wondering, when the story broke, the website redirect was changed several times, and the website now points to google.com.
